harvesting, drying, and curing

HEY I WAS WANTED TO KNO IS DRY MY PLANT AS EASY AS:

PULLING THE PLANT FROM ROOT TYING TO A STRING IN DARK ROOM FOR A FEW DAYz, WAIT TILL IT IS DRY ENUF THAT IT SNAPz WHEN BENT, THEN JUS SNAP THE BUDS OFF AND TRIM IT UP A LIL BIT

AFTER THAT IS IT READY TO SMOKE?

IM GROWIN MY FIRST FEW PLANTz SO THERE IS SOME STUFF I DONT KNO BUT I THINK IM PRETTY GOOD ON THE BASICz OF GROWING IT,, BUT IM NOT TO SHORE BOUT DRYING IT

paper bags and cardboard sucks out moisture, but if u dry with this method, it will dry too fast and u will get bud that is crispy and smells like hay

Thank you very much jackel, I just went and found some screen, and put the buds on it.(was on paper plate)

One other Q, if I dry in a place where our clothing is kept(walk-in closet) will the buds take on the smell of the clothes? I'm thinking laundry detergent and fabric softener wouldn't be a good flavor...

not sure but i know ur clothes will smell like weed for a long time.

have just resumed hydroponics after being out of da scene for many years.luckily ive managed to get clones from my mother plant i used over 14 years ago. its a great plant to grow its old skool super*2. anyway i enjoyed reading your notes on cultivation being on line helps so much gettin in touch wit likeminded people. cheers jake

welcome back to it. 14yrs is a long time. is it the original monther? or did u get the strain back from someone?

Ok i had some moldy Purple Kush and some TGU with a bit of mold and worm crap, i will throw away fresh mold i cut out and i threw away a little bit of that. but thi was dry buds i was de-boneing and ha a bit of rot in by the stem with most of the buds uneffected but still deemed garbage when i was going threw each strain, to get to the point i had a thought that ISO quick wash would kill the pathogen and extract good quality conentrate, a few you tube vidios later and i had some awsom epurple kush ISO, i left the call pan outside with a 4" squarl blower on it to evaporate in a few days, bring it in at night when humidity jumps. it is very dangerious and flamable but i use no flame or hot plate just a blower to encurage faster evap times.

the hash is like a solid form of buble hash turning black and liquid at the touch of a flame, very effective meds out of what i was thinking about tossing out. moldy buds aint medicine, andi wouldnt recoment drying fresh moldy buds cause the mold will grow and i would just cut out the uneffected parts over some news paper and wrap the moldy stuff up. kee the fast food bags and when you go back just toss the moldy stuff in their garbage after the drive threw. i just toss it in the garbage but to each their own, alsoused 91% ISO from the pharmacy -the highest i could get. after i poored this milky liquid off into a second glass plate and dried it some more with the blower, i dried it from an oily state to a cristalin sandy state in the grow room up on a shelf above the lamps cause air moves and exchanges well but humidity is lower then outdoors. i wanted anything that would be harmfull from the ISO to evaporate and it did over time. i only put it in the grow room once it was a solid state but resembled hash oil, i didnt want fumes in the grow room is all.

I would like to thank you for the very informative posts. i am a first time grower and have succesfully raised 5 different plants, one of which was auto-flowering....the auto flower is reay to harvest. My question is , if i cut branches off of the main stalk, will the plant eventually start regrowth and bud again? and if so, will the buds be as large and potent? or do i have to start all over again with new seeds? also, can i clone a plant after it has been harvested ?
